FAQ

Here’s a list of frequently asked questions about the Good Breakfast Challenge.

BLUEBAND’S GOOD BREAKFAST CHALLENGE

What is the Good Breakfast Challenge about?

BlueBand believes a balanced breakfast is a great way to start the day. As the first meal after a long night's sleep, it is packed with the nourishment that kids need to learn, play, and grow in school and at home.

As part of our Good Breakfast Program, the Good Breakfast Challenge aims to help children further develop the habit of eating a tasty, nutritious breakfast every day.

This way, they get the energy and essential nutrients that they need to grow healthy and happy.

And to make this challenge even more exciting, we also created ‘Breakfast Squad’ — a fun, educational game to help children learn why it's important to have a good breakfast every day.

How does the challenge work?

Prepare a nutritious breakfast with BlueBand for your child every day, for 21 days. Track your daily progress on the challenge dashboard.

To win the prizes, snap a photo of your child’s breakfast with a BlueBand product in the background. Upload it when you ‘check in’ for breakfast on the challenge dashboard.

At the end of the challenge, answer a few survey questions and receive your certificate of completion.

You will have 30 days to complete this challenge, so don’t worry if you miss a day. If you’re ready to get started, create an account now.

How do we win the good breakfast challenge?

You and your kid can together be a winner to the good breakfast challenge in 3 easy steps

  1. Sign up for Good Breakfast Challenge
  2. Check in breakfast for 21 days
  3. Complete the game with your kids for a good understanding of the benefits of a nutritious breakfast and have fun
Can anyone take part in it?

This challenge is open to families with children aged 6 to 12. However, we encourage everyone in the whole family to join in and enjoy a healthy, tasty breakfast with BlueBand every day.

Do I need to pay to join the challenge?

No, this challenge is completely free.

BENEFITS OF THE CHALLENGE

Why is BlueBand doing this challenge?

The Food and Agriculture Organization estimated that in 2020, between 720 and 811 million people in the world faced hunger. Using the middle of this projected range, that means 768 million people were undernourished.

For growing children, hunger can affect their overall health and reduce their performance in school. Having a balanced breakfast fuels children with the nutrients they need for the day. However, many of them tend to skip this meal or do not eat a healthy breakfast.

BlueBand’s mission is to make a nutritious breakfast an everyday reality for 100 million school-aged children across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East by 2023. It is an essential step to raise healthy and happy kids, as well as improve their performance in school.

While we have implemented the Good Breakfast Program in schools, we believe a good breakfast habit starts at home. Through this challenge, we aim to partner with parents to make a nutritious breakfast available, affordable, and desirable at home.

Why should my child take part in this challenge?

Skipping breakfast can make children feel tired or irritable*, which affects their ability to learn.

Comparably, children who eat breakfast tend to be healthier. But besides frequency, what they eat is crucial too. Choosing breakfast foods that are rich in whole grains, fiber, and protein can give your child what he/she needs to perform well in school^.

By taking part in this challenge, your child will learn what a healthy breakfast is, and why having it every day is important to learn and play. He/she will also have the energy and nutrients needed to grow healthy and happy.

GOOD BREAKFAST GAME: BREAKFAST SQUAD

What is this game about?

Breakfast Squad is an adventure game designed for children. It aims to help them understand why it's important to have a good breakfast, what a good breakfast is, and the benefits of having one every day.

We packed our game with lots of fun mini games, interesting stories, and delicious justice — everything to keep kids engaged and entertained!

What is the game synopsis?

Welcome to Yum City, the happiest, healthiest city in the world.

But everything changed when the Junk Food Monster and its Minis attacked. They have stolen all the good breakfasts in the city — all to make everyone eat unhealthy food and be miserable!

Now Yum City needs a superhero. Do you have what it takes to save the city… and the most important meal of the day?

What will my child learn from this game?

Besides the importance of having a good breakfast every day, your child will also learn more about healthy foods, nutrition, and vitamins.

After your child completes the game, they will get their very own certificate of participation. Heroes deserve to be rewarded after all!

What happens in the game? How do you play it?

In Breakfast Squad, your child will transform into a superhero. Their mission is to save Yum City from the evil Junk Food Monster, as well as restore all the healthy breakfasts.

To win, your child will need to play mini games to earn Energy Points. With these, they can complete tasks to progress the storyline.

There are 21 tasks in total. The game ends once your child completes the final task: Defeating the Junk Food Monster!

What is the appropriate age group for this game?

We designed Breakfast Squad for 6- to 13-year-olds. However, we encourage children of all ages to join in the fun and play this game. This way, they can have fun and learn something new while having a tasty, nutritious breakfast!

Does my child need to play the game every day, over the course of the 21-day Good Breakfast Challenge?

No, we understand children may not be able to play every day. That is why we have made the entire game slightly easier so they can complete it in a shorter amount of time.

We will also save your child's progress every step of the way, so they can continue the game from where they stopped.

How long will it take to complete the game?

The total time will depend on your child's age, how often they play games, and how long you let them play for every day.

We estimate that your child may take a few hours or up to a few days to play mini games, perform their in-game tasks, and complete the entire game.

My child has successfully completed all 21 tasks and finished the game. What happens next?

Congratulations! They will receive a certificate of participation. This will be shown on the site after they have finished the game. Additionally, we will send you an email with their certificate. Do share it with them to reward them for their efforts.

To receive the 'Completion Certificate', please also remember to complete the 21-day Breakfast Challenge.
